RainFrog's investor application package includes a short information form and a copy of our Agreement of Partnership.
The Agreement of Partnership included with the Investor Application Package explains the details of how RainFrog operates, and represents the partnership's commitment to you. Please take the time to read it carefully. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us by email at info@rainfroginvestment.com or by telephone at (608)241-8851. We are proud of the way we work, and we want you to understand it.
Completed applications should be sent to:
RainFrog Ethical Investment PartnershipAfter we receive your signed Application Package, RainFrog's current partners will vote to admit you to the partnership. The vote is somewhat of a formality, but it is an important one. RainFrog doesn't believe it is in the best interest of the partnership or of socially responsible investment in general for us to turn away investors, and every past applicant to the partnership has been admitted. However, the formal admission vote serves as protection against ethical drift. RainFrog may not reject applicants, but it is important that we can reject them.
Applicants will be admitted to the partnership as of the first monthly meeting at least two weeks after RainFrog has received their applications. Applicants need not take any special steps to ensure their admittance. However, current partners do like to know a little bit about the people they are voting to admit. For this reason, we encourage each applicant to post brief self-introduction (one or two sentences) to our online forum. If applicants are uncomfortable leaving their introductions online, they are welcome to remove them after the admission vote.
Applicants can begin investing with RainFrog as of the date they are formally admitted to the partnership. The easiest way to invest is with a personal check. A check may be included with the application package, or sent to the same address later at the convenience of the new partner. If an applicant submits a check with his or her application and is subsequently denied admission to the partnership, RainFrog will return the check uncashed.
Partners who wish to invest in Japanese yen may do so by making a transfer from any post office ATM in Japan directly to RainFrog's Japanese postal account (account number 10440-21959971, account name RAINFROG-AIKOUKAI). The ATM will guide you through the transfer in English. This can also be done in person at the post office with an account transfer form.
Once admitted, partners may add to their RainFrog accounts as of any monthly meeting date with a personal check to the address above, or in Japan with a postal transfer. A partner may specify how he or she would like any new investment to be divided between RainFrog's Growth and Income Portfolios. If a partner does not specify how a new investment should be divided between portfolios, the partnership will divide the investment in proportion to the size of the partner's current investment in the two portfolios.
Withdraw funds from your RainFrog account. Partners may withdraw some or all of their funds from their RainFrog accounts as of any monthly meeting date. Withdrawing partners should notify the partnership by email of their intention to withdraw funds at least two weeks prior to the meeting date, and should confirm their intention to withdraw funds in writing by one week before the meeting date. The partnership will honor each withdrawal within twenty days of the meeting date. Withdrawing partners will be paid by check in US dollars.
